1. Who provides the service

FlashTranslate is provided by xbu AB ("we", "us", "our"), registered in Sweden. These terms describe our agreement with you for using FlashTranslate.

You must have legal capacity to enter this agreement. A parent or guardian must authorise a minor's use and purchases where required by law. If acting for an organisation, you must be authorised to do so.

2. The translation service

FlashTranslate provides browser-based voice and text translation in shared rooms. The creator selects two languages. Each participant chooses one of those languages for speaking and listening. Typed messages are translated as text. Voice features require microphone permission, a compatible browser and an internet connection.

AI translation can be incomplete, delayed or incorrect. Check important details, especially names, amounts and instructions. FlashTranslate is not a certified interpreter or an emergency service. Use a qualified professional where accuracy is critical, including medical, legal or safety-related decisions. These limitations do not remove our responsibility to provide the service with the care and quality required by law.

3. Rooms and conversation time

Keep room codes and invitation links secure and share them only with intended participants. People with access to a code or link may be able to join. Respect other participants' rights when sharing content.

Free rooms include five minutes of conversation time by default. The room displays its balance and, where applicable, expiry. Time is shared by the room, not provided separately to each participant. Use the pause control when taking a break; silence alone should not be assumed to pause the timer. Entering a room or watching the optional demo does not start the conversation timer.

Access may end when time runs out or the room expires. Room time is access to the service, not a cash balance. This does not restrict any refund or remedy required by law.

4. Purchases and availability

Where paid packs are available, the offer must state the total price, currency, applicable taxes, included time and validity before you order. Packs are one-off purchases, not automatically renewing subscriptions. A purchase adds time to the specified room. Keep your confirmation and room access details.

A checkout labelled as a mock checkout or simulator is a test flow and does not collect a real payment. Real-payment terms apply only to actual purchases.

We may perform maintenance or make reasonable technical changes, with notice of material changes where required. If a paid service cannot be supplied or does not conform to the agreement, you retain your rights to correction and, where applicable, a price reduction or refund. Future price changes do not change a completed purchase.

5. Cancellation and refunds

Consumers in Sweden and other EU/EEA countries generally have 14 days from concluding an online service contract to withdraw without giving a reason. Longer periods may apply if required information was not provided. Notify support@xbu.se with a clear statement of withdrawal, your name and order reference. No particular form is required.

If you expressly request that a paid service begin during this period, a proportionate charge for service already supplied may apply only where the legal conditions are met. Withdrawal rights end after full performance only where the required prior express consent and acknowledgement have been obtained. Accepting these terms or starting a room does not by itself waive your statutory rights.

Where a refund is due following withdrawal, we will reimburse you within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the original payment method unless you agree otherwise, without a refund fee. Rights concerning defective services apply independently of the withdrawal period.

6. Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully. Do not use it for fraud, unlawful threats, harassment, deceptive impersonation or content that violates another person's rights. Do not attempt unauthorised access, distribute malicious code, interfere with the service or bypass usage and payment limits. Do not record or distribute another person's conversation without a lawful basis and any permission required by law.

We may proportionately restrict access to address abuse, security risks or legal requirements. Where lawful and practicable, we will explain the reason and allow you to contact us about a mistake. Suspension does not automatically remove statutory rights relating to purchases.

7. Content and personal information

You retain any rights you hold in submitted content. You allow us and our providers to process it as needed to transcribe, translate and deliver conversations, operate the service and meet legal obligations. These terms do not give us ownership of your conversations.

Voice translation sends audio to OpenAI for processing. Messages and participant settings also pass through FlashTranslate to deliver the conversation. Other participants receive conversation content. Consider what you share and avoid unnecessary sensitive information.

These terms are not a privacy notice or blanket consent to personal-data processing or advertising. A separate notice must explain the controller, purposes, legal bases, recipients, international transfers, retention and your rights. That notice is still to be completed for this draft. 8. Promotions and advertising

The optional FlashTranslate demo is not required to create or join a room and grants no extra time. Advertising spaces are labelled; a placeholder is not a paid advertisement. Third-party advertising, if enabled, requires applicable privacy and consent arrangements separately. You are never required to click an advertisement to use a room.

9. Intellectual property and responsibility

The application, branding and website content belong to their respective rights holders. You may use the service for its intended purpose. These terms do not limit applicable open-source permissions or rights provided by law.

We remain responsible for our obligations under this agreement and applicable law. We do not promise uninterrupted connectivity or perfect AI output. Nothing excludes liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, injury caused by negligence or anything that cannot lawfully be excluded. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

10. Ending use and changes

You may stop using FlashTranslate at any time. Leaving a room does not itself request a refund; contact us to exercise cancellation or complaint rights. We may update these terms for future use to reflect service or legal changes, stating the effective date and providing notice or obtaining agreement where required. Updates will not retroactively reduce rights attached to an existing purchase.

11. Complaints and applicable law

Contact support@xbu.se with your order reference, the problem and the outcome you seek. Do not send payment-card details or unnecessary conversation content.

Swedish law applies without depriving consumers of mandatory protections in their country of habitual residence. You may use any court available under applicable consumer law. No compulsory arbitration or waiver of consumer claims is imposed.

If we cannot resolve a consumer complaint, you may be able to refer it to Sweden's National Board for Consumer Disputes, Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN), subject to its eligibility rules. Guidance is available from Konsumentverket.
