A shared room. Two languages.
A conversation you can both follow.
FlashTranslate brings two people into a shared browser room. Each person speaks and listens in their chosen language, with translated text alongside the conversation.
Pick the room’s two languages
Choose the two languages before creating a room. The room keeps that pair, so everyone knows which languages are available. Select your own language when entering: it controls both what you speak and what you hear. You can switch between the room’s two languages later.
Share the code or invite link
Send the room code or invite link to the other person. They open the room on their own device, enter a name, and choose their language. You do not need to install a dedicated app. Both devices need an internet connection and a compatible browser.
Speak, or use the chat
Tap Start conversation and allow microphone access to use voice translation. FlashTranslate transcribes your speech, translates it into the other person’s selected language, and reads the translation aloud to them. The translated words also appear in the conversation. Prefer not to speak? Type your message instead; typed chat is translated as text.
Keep track of your room time
Free rooms include five minutes of conversation time by default. The room timer shows what remains. Pause the conversation when you take a break, or use the in-room purchase options if you need more time. Entering a room and watching the optional product demo do not start the conversation timer.
A few habits make it easier
Use short sentences and take turns. Choose a quiet spot, keep the microphone close, and use headphones when devices are nearby. Translation can make mistakes, so check names, addresses, numbers, and anything important together.
